Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit skill7.ai or contact us through it, and when we reach out to you directly, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It covers this website and the direct outreach (prospecting) described below. The Skill7 product has its own terms and privacy information, which we share with early-access customers.

Who we are

Skill7 (“we”, “us”) runs this website. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at hello@skill7.ai. Our registered company details will be added here once this policy has been reviewed.

What we collect

When you browse the site

We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, which buttons are clicked and where visitors come from. We use PostHog’s EU Cloud, and analytics requests go through our own address (e.skill7.ai) on their way to PostHog. We collect:

• the pages you view, and when
• the page that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source)
• your device type, browser and operating system, and your screen size
• clicks on our main buttons, and whether you started filling in a form

Until you choose, analytics is cookieless. Before you make a choice in the cookie banner, PostHog runs in memory only. It stores nothing on your device, so every page load counts as a new visit that isn’t linked to you, unless you submit one of our forms (see below). If you click Reject, it stays that way. Only if you click Accept does PostHog store an identifier on your device, so that visits can be linked together. Our cookie policy has the details.

We don’t store your IP address. Our PostHog project is set to discard IP addresses rather than save them with analytics data.

When you fill in a form

Waitlist form (on /waitlist): your work email (required), and optionally your name, company, team size, main use case and current LMS (learning management system), and the pricing plan you chose if you came from our pricing page. The email box at the bottom of our home page doesn’t send anything by itself: it opens the waitlist form with your email already filled in.

Studio call form (on /agencies): your work email, name and studio or company name (all required), and optionally your team size, number of clients per year, the formats you deliver and any notes you add.

With each submission we also record which form you used, the page you sent it from, and a random identifier for your visit. When you submit a form, PostHog stores the details you sent (including your email address) with that random identifier, which links the analytics for that visit — and, if you accepted analytics cookies, later visits from this browser — to those details. Your email address is stored with PostHog, never in the cookie or browser storage on your device. You must tick a box confirming that we can use your details to contact you about Skill7 before the form will send.

Both forms contain a hidden field that people never see. If it’s filled in, we treat the submission as automated spam and nothing is sent. We don’t use third-party CAPTCHA services.

Form submissions are delivered to our PostHog project through the same address as our analytics, and we receive an email notification with the details you entered.

When you book a call or email us

If you use the studio form, we show you a link to Calendly to book a time, with your name and email filled in to save you typing. Calendly is a separate service, and its own privacy policy applies to anything you enter there. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

Why we use it

• To contact you about early access: we use your form details to reply, invite you to try Skill7, and arrange calls. We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who ask to hear from us, together with the consent you give by ticking the box on the form.
• To improve the site: we use analytics to see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. Cookieless analytics relies on our legitimate interest in running a working website. Analytics that stores an identifier on your device relies on your consent, which you give by clicking Accept.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

• PostHog Inc. stores our analytics data and form submissions in its EU region.
• Google (Firebase Hosting) serves the website to your browser. Like any web host, it handles technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages.
• Calendly handles call bookings, if you choose to book one.

Where a provider processes data outside the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards in its data processing terms. The exact arrangements will be confirmed during legal review.

How long we keep it

We keep the details you send through a form until you ask us to delete them, or for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, whichever comes first. Analytics data is kept only as long as it’s useful for understanding how the site is used; the exact retention period will be confirmed during legal review.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• correct anything that’s wrong
• delete your data
• stop using your data, or object to how we use it
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example by using Cookie settings in the footer to change your analytics choice

To make any of these requests, email hello@skill7.ai. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. If you live in the EU, you can also contact your local data protection authority.

Prospecting

Alongside this website, we also reach out directly to people at UK organisations we think may be interested in Skill7, to invite them to try it as a founding partner.

Who: business contacts at UK companies, found through public and professional sources.

What we collect: name, job role, company, business email address and public profile URL (for example, a LinkedIn profile).

Where it comes from: Apollo, LinkedIn and public company websites.

Why: to invite you, personally, to try Skill7 as a founding partner and help shape the product. Every message is drafted with AI assistance, then personally reviewed and sent by our founder, one to one — never a bulk or automated send.

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in finding design partners for an early-access product. A summary of our assessment is available on request — email hello@skill7.ai.

How we reach you: we email only business addresses at incorporated companies. If you’re a freelancer, sole trader or partnership, or we only have a personal address for you, we only reach out on LinkedIn.

How long we keep it: if you don’t respond, we delete your details after 12 months. If you decline or opt out, we keep a minimal suppression record (your name, email, LinkedIn URL and our internal record ID) so we never contact you again.

Opt out: reply “no thanks” to any email, or email hello@skill7.ai. We honour it straight away.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the way we handle data changes. If a change is significant, we’ll say so clearly at the top of the page and, where we have your email address and the change affects you, let you know directly.
