Cookie policy
Draft — pending legal review
This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) that skill7.ai uses, and how you can change your choice at any time. A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser; localStorage does a similar job in a different part of the browser.
Before you choose: cookieless analytics
When you first visit, we show a banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, and for as long as you reject them, our analytics (PostHog) runs in memory only. It saves nothing on your device, so we see each page load as a separate visit and can’t link your visits together. The exception is a visit where you submit one of our forms: we link that visit’s analytics to the details you send, as our privacy policy explains. We also don’t store IP addresses. Our privacy policy explains what analytics collects.
What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | When it’s set | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
s7_consent |
Cookie (first-party) | Strictly necessary. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don’t ask again on every page. | When you click Accept or Reject | 180 days |
ph_<key>_posthog |
Cookie and localStorage (first-party) | Analytics. Holds a random identifier so PostHog can recognise return visits and link the pages you view in one session. It never holds your email address or name: if you submit one of our forms, the details you send are stored with PostHog, linked to this random identifier. <key> is our PostHog project’s public key. |
Only after you click Accept | Up to 1 year |
Strictly necessary storage like s7_consent doesn’t need your consent under UK and EU rules, because the site can’t remember your choice without it. It contains only the word “granted” or “denied”.
If you accept analytics, PostHog may save a few more short-lived entries whose names also start with ph_, for the same analytics purpose.
What we don’t use
- No advertising or tracking cookies from ad networks.
- No social media widgets that set cookies.
- No cookies from our website host.
- No Calendly cookies on this site: we link to Calendly rather than embedding it. If you open Calendly to book a call, its own cookie policy applies there.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page to reopen the banner, then choose Accept or Reject. If you switch from Accept to Reject, analytics goes back to memory-only mode, and we delete the analytics cookies and browser storage (everything starting with ph_) that Skill7 saved on your device.
You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings. If you delete s7_consent, we’ll ask for your choice again on your next visit.
